Our client, a rapidly growing, well-funded startup in stealth mode is looking to add a Senior Contract Manager to its team. The Senior Contract Manager will be a key member of the Contract team, and will focus on the drafting, negotiation and execution of operational contracts, and identifying and implementing improvements to the contracting process. The Senior Contract Manager is expected to collaborate with a diverse group of professionals, including stakeholders and other teams, to ensure strong communication across functions and business teams. The Senior Contract Manager will work alongside specialized legal teams within the company and its related entities. This role can operate out of any our client’s Washington DC, SF Bay Area, Los Angeles, New York City or Boston offices (hybrid in-office requirement).
Responsibilities:
- Independently review, prepare and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including government contracts and those of high value and complexity. Contract types include, confidentiality agreements, services agreements, engagement letters, statements of work, amendments, and order forms.
- Develop detailed familiarity of and working comfort with contract templates and the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS)
- Work autonomously, in collaboration with various related entities and stakeholders, to incorporate and negotiate terms as appropriate.
- Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data in proposals
- Review counterparty markups to contract templates and compare with vendor proposals and incorporate where appropriate. Be able to determine which terms are acceptable and which should be added on a case-by-case basis, in consultation with internal teams.
- Evaluate and monitor contract performance to determine the necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts and compliance with contractual obligations
- Work collaboratively with the internal teams on the maintenance of templates, knowledge database, and clause library, identifying opportunities for improvement
- Partner and collaborate with internal stakeholders throughout the organization regarding contractual matters, ensuring compliance by such stakeholders with the contract process
- Perform special projects and respond to ad-hoc requests as needed from time to time, including contracts-reporting projects
- Coordinate signatures of appropriate signing authorities, ensuring contracts are fully executed by all parties, and file drafts—as well as executed versions—of contracts in appropriate locations.
- Provide training and guidance to junior contract managers, and help foster team development
Requirements:
- Undergraduate college degree from an accredited university
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as a contract manager
- Ability to manage high-risk and high-value contracts, including analyzing complex data and information to make informed decisions
- Experience with a wide range of contracts including cross-border transactions
- Experience with Federal government contracting, with hands-on experience and knowledge of (a) Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS), (b) Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs) or (c) Other Transaction Authority (OTA) are a plus.
- An active national security clearance is preferred.
- Confidence working in GSuite, DocuSign, and Zoom

The current targeted base salary for this position ranges from $200K – $225K, plus equity and a potential bonus. Actual compensation is determined based on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, years of directly relevant experience, and geographic location.
