Solutus Legal Search has been exclusively engaged by our client, a highly successful incubator and accelerator hub focused on the healthcare—especially medical device—sector, to assist in hiring an intelligent, motivated, and experienced Contracts Manager.

Reporting to the VP, Intellectual Property and Legal Affairs, and working closely with a business team led by a visionary founder, prolific inventor, and CEO, this hire’s responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing, negotiating, and drafting a variety of contracts, including NDAs, consulting agreements with healthcare professionals, vendor and purchase agreements, data agreements, and various other agreements.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks in contracts.
  • Manage a library of contract templates and ensure consistency across all companies.
  • Supporting the compliance function, including ensuring compliance with the Physician Payments Sunshine Act (Sunshine Act).
  • Assisting in development of policies and procedures for contract management and administration.
  • Assist with special projects as needed, including updating contracts playbook and supporting other legal and administrative tasks.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • 3-5 years’ experience negotiating, drafting, and finalizing contracts in an in-house legal environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to client service, and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including teammates and business team members across the innovation hub and its portfolio companies as well as with outside vendors, consultants, and outside counsel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with contract management systems (e.g., Conga).
  • Quickly learn, adapt to, and manage new software applications to support evolving business needs.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Compensation is targeted at a base salary range of $90,000 to $110,000, plus equity and benefits. Base salary and overall compensation will be determined by number of years of directly relevant experience and history of success.
