Our client, a cutting-edge newly public global, mission-driven SaaS company, has exclusively retained Solutus to assist in the hiring of a Corporate Counsel (Privacy/Product) to join their legal team.
This attorney will champion the protection of customer data by counseling product, marketing, security and other business units on privacy and security compliance through the product development lifecycle. Specific responsibilities include developing contract templates, policies, procedures, programs and related trainings; responding to customer privacy-related requests or questions; leading cross-functional initiatives related to data protection and governance; and monitoring and advising on global privacy and data security laws and regulations. In addition, this attorney will have the opportunity to expand their practice to include copyright, trademark and patent portfolio work, open source compliance, and global export compliance.
The ideal candidate will be admitted to practice law in California (RIHC is acceptable) and have 4+ years of legal experience including experience advising on global data privacy matters and drafting and reviewing privacy-related agreements. Our client will consider candidates with law firm or in-house experience (or a combination of the two).
